He is widely known for his book, Humanity Ascended, which introduced the theory of the cycles of magic to the greater world, for which he won a Pulitzer Prize.

As events proceed in the Sixth World, it is revealed he has a daughter, Jane "Frosty" Forester, who becomes a pawn in a chal'han between himself and Harlequin. He was known to be a High Prince of Tir Tairngire, and maintained a heavily secured property on Mount Saint Helens, named Althain.

He was close acquiantences with Dunkelzahn, receiving several bequeaths and mentions in his Will. In the events that followed, he stepped down from the Council of Princes, taking his current role with the DIMR. Subsequently, he was directly involved with the events surrounding the Artifacts, an at one point was in the possession of the Piri Reis Map. He was later present for the events at the Watergate Rift Bunker, when Ghostwalker closed the Dunkelzahn Rift.
