In the parahistory of Shadowrun, the Sixth World is the common name used to refer to game's timeline. The Sixth World is now both a parahistory an parafuture. The initial game publications in the 1980's painted a picture of a world that had not yet happened for them, in the 2010s. Today, we are well into the the 21st century, and the story of the world it told isn't too much stranger than our own current events.
